Football History of Portugal
The Portugal national football team is controlled by the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF). Portugal finished 4th at the last World Cup. Portugal has qualified four times for the FIFA World Cup; 1966, 1986, 2002 and 2006. In 1966, during their appearance in the World Cup, they reached the semi final, losing 2-1 at Wembley to the eventual world champions England. Portugal finally finished in third place, with Eusébio being considered the best player of the tournament.
