The Portugal football team finished 4th at the 2006 World Cup. Portugal have qualified four times for the FIFA World Cup; 1966, 1986, 2002 and 2006. The Portuguese Football Federation decided to hire Luiz Felipe Scolari in 2003 and he led Portugal to the final of Euro 2004, where they lost to Greece, and to their second World Cup semi final in 2006, where they lost to France. Deco is a highly respected Portugese talent who has won the Champions League twice and league titles for Porto and Barcelona, where he currently plys his trade. His midfield trickery also made him Portugese Footballer of the Year (2004).
